This program will provide an overview of how cannabis DUIs are currently being detected, charged, tested, prosecuted, and sentenced. Current methods of roadside assessment and testing will be covered, along with an analysis of challenges being made to the detection methods and a discussion of rapidly developing issues and emerging technology.

 

1 Hour MCLE Credit, including 1 Hour Specialization in Criminal Law

Matthew CargalMatthew Cargal is of counsel to the Law offices of Myles L. Berman and lead attorney at the Law Offices of Matthew Cargal, where he has been exclusively practicing criminal defense law, including DUI defense, for over 20 years. Mr. Cargal has been a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Indigent Criminal Defense Appointment panel as a felony attorney. Mr. Cargal sat as a Judge Pro Tem in Los Angeles county for 3 years. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and Golden Gate University School of Law. Mr. Cargal is active in many professional organizations including the Los Angeles County Bar Association, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, and the California DUI Lawyers Association.
