JEAN L. BERTRAND

JEAN L. BERTRAND, Schiff Hardin, San Francisco, is a well-regarded strategic litigator and seasoned trial lawyer. Her 35 years of experience includes dozens of jury trials, several arbitrations, and multiple appellate arguments. As an archrival once said, “Jean knows her way around a courtroom.”

Jean’s enviable record of wins ranges from defenses of asbestos product liability cases to prosecuting numerous insurance coverage cases. She has also helped clients recover millions of dollars in the settlement of cases involving frauds against lenders.
A founding attorney and former managing partner of Morgenstein & Jubelirer, Jean joined Schiff Hardin in 2007, when the two firms combined. Jean received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
