HENRY S. DAVID
HENRY S. DAVID began his legal career at Graham & James, a preeminent international law firm in Los Angeles, in 1979. He rose quickly through the ranks, and became a partner in 1986, and the managing partner of its largest and most profitable office before he turned 40. After nearly 25 years at that firm, Henry joined one of the largest litigation boutiques in Los Angeles, which split up years later. In 2011, Henry formed The David Firm® as a vehicle to serve the needs of his clients better.
JEREMY M. EVANS
JEREMY M. EVANS is the Managing Attorney at California Sports Lawyer, representing sports, entertainment, and business professionals in contract drafting, negotiations, licensing, and career growth. Evans is also the Director of the Center for Sports Law & Policy at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California, where he resides. Every September, the Center hosts the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition, a nationally recognized sports law competition. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with an emphasis in American Politics. He earned his law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he served as President of the Student Bar Association and Editor-in-Chief of the student newspaper, The Jeffersonian. As a law student, he competed three times in the National Baseball Arbitration Competition. He is the now the Coach for the Baseball Arbitration Competition Team, which won the National Championship in 2012. Prior to opening California Sports Lawyer, Evans worked as a Graduate Law Clerk with the Superior Court of California. Prior to law school, he worked in finance for Quinn Emanuel Uquhart & Sullivan LLP and as a Legislative Aide to a State Senator in Los Angeles County. In 2013, Evans earned a Certificate from the National Institute of Politics as a Certified Political Consultant-Campaign Manager. Evans is an award-winning attorney and community leader.
JEROME FISHKIN began his general practice in 1971 and has appeared in nearly every courthouse in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, from the old Justice Courts, to the California Supreme Court, to the Ninth Circuit. He has represented clients in civil, juvenile, and criminal cases and administrative hearings. In 1978, he became employed as a research attorney with the State Bar of California and became a prosecutor of disciplinary cases in 1983. As a senior prosecutor, he left the Bar in 1992 to open his own law practice, focusing his practice in the area of attorney ethics. Besides State Bar cases, he has represented attorneys in the Ninth Circuit, Bankruptcy Court, and the U.S. Patent Office. He argued the successful quantum meruit case to the California Supreme Court—Huskinson v Wolf (2004) 32 Cal 4th 453. Together, Jerry and his partner Lindsay Slatter represented Sergio Garcia, the first undocumented immigrant to be admitted to practice law. In Re Garcia (2014) 58 Cal 4th 440. Sergio received his green card in May 2015, after a 21-year wait.
RENEE N. GALENTE
RENEE N. GALENTE is the founder of Galente Law APC where she handles personal injury, criminal, and military defense matters. Ms. Galente graduated from Park University and Thomas Jefferson School of Law, both Magna Cum Laude, and Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer’s College. Ms. Galente teaches at both Thomas Jefferson School of Law and Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer’s College. Ms. Galente is admitted to practice by military courts worldwide. She is a member, and has served on the executive committees of many local, state, and national bar associations, and she was selected to “Rising Stars” by SuperLawyers for 2015-2016.
NANCY B. GOLDSTEIN
NANCY B. GOLDSTEIN is a solo practitioner in Westlake Village, where her practice focuses on real estate and business matters. Originally from New York, New York, Ms. Goldstein started her career as an analytical chemist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency before becoming an investigator for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. She then moved to California and put herself through law school. Now with over 30 years of practice, she represents her clients primarily in easement, land use, and development matters, handling both their transactions and litigation needs. She is the former Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the California State Bar. Ms. Goldstein received her B.A. from the City University of New York, Herbert H. MERLYN N. HERNANDEZ, CFLS established the Law Offices of Merlyn N. Hernandez in 2003, handling immigration and family law cases in Los Angeles. She is a Family Law Specialist certified by the California Board of Legal Specialization. Merlyn has been the Southern California Chapter Congressional Advocacy Liasion since 2013. MICHA S. FERNANDO M. LUNA is the principal of the Law Office of Fernando M. Luna, focused exclusively on family law matters. Mr. Luna has volunteered for the Los Angeles County Bar Pro Bono Domestic Violence Project, the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, served on the executive committee for the Southern California Family Law Inn of Court, and the Pasadena Bar Association Family Law Program Planning Committee. VIVEK MITTAL graduated from UCLA School of Law. Mr. Mittal has been an Adjunct Professor at the Immigrant Rights Clinic at the UC Irvine School of Law, served as a law clerk to the Honorable Consuelo B. Marshall, Senior District Court Judge in the Central District of California in Los Angeles, California, and has worked as an immigration practitioner writing and winning numerous motions in immigration court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In 2009, Mr. Mittal was selected to be an Equal Justice Works Fellow at the National Immigration Law Center where he litigated high-impact cases regarding anti-immigration laws across the country, most notably against Arizona’s SB 1070 and Alabama’s HB 56, for which he was honored by the Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights Los Angeles (CHIRLA). Mr. Mittal is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and volunteers regularly for its Immigration Legal Assistance Program.
VINOD NICHANI is the principal of Nichani Law Firm. He completed his undergrad in Criminal Law from San Jose State University and a Juris Doctorate from Lincoln University. Mr. Nichani often speaks for professional organizations to educate business and real estate professionals on variety of legal issues. Prior to his career as a lawyer, he represented investors in the purchase, sale and leasing of the commercial real estate. SANJAY A. PAUL is the founder of Dream Law, APC in Pasadena. Mr. Paul handles family law and immigration matters. He has represented over a hundred undocumented immigrants known as "Dreamers" obtain documentation through the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program which was launched in August of 2012. Mr. Paul has volunteered at the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, the Housing Rights Center of Los Angeles, and the Immigration Justice Project in San Diego. He is a graduate of the University of California at Davis and Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. In 2014, Mr. Paul was nominated to Pasadena Top Attorneys by Pasadena Magazine and he was nominated by Super Lawyers as a Southern California Rising Star for 2015-2016. MATTHEW K. PURCELL
MATTHEW K. PURCELL, is co-founder and Shareholder of Forester Purcell Inc., Folsom. Matt was the youngest Certified Family Law Specialist in California at the time he received his certification from the State Bar. He has more than a decade of experience handling a range of family law issues, as well as guardianships and juvenile dependency. Matt has handled everything from intricate property and support issues to complex custody issues involving allegations of sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, parental alienation, and relocations.
Matt handles all aspects of dissolutions, but is particularly passionate about protecting the well-being of the children who are involved in these contentious adult situations and has significant experience in the more specialized fields of guardianships, grandparent rights, and juvenile dependency cases, and is adept at counseling clients in situations where Child Protective Services removes children from parents based upon allegations of abuse and/or neglect.

SHANON K. QUINLEY
SHANON K. QUINLEY maintains a solo law practice in Pasadena, with an emphasis on family law. Ms. Quinley is a frequent author on family law matters, and she served as a chapter author for two CEB publications: California Child and Spousal Support: Establishing, Modifying, and Enforcing and Family Law Financial Recovery. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star 2012–2016. Ms. Quinley received her B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law. At Southwestern, Ms. Quinley participated in the Southwestern Moot Court Honors Program where she received accolades for both her writing and oral argument skills. J. CHRISTOPHER TOEWS is a founding partner of Toews & Murphy, Inc. where he focuses on business and estate planning for business owners, professionals and retirees. He is a member of the tax, business and probate and trust law sections of the State Bar and holds specialization certificates in taxation and in estate planning, trust and probate law. Chris began his legal career in 1968 with the New York City firm of Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine where he was a tax associate. In 1973 Chris joined Citibank, N.A. (New York) as Vice President - Assistant Tax Counsel. In 1979 he was named Corporate Secretary of Saudi American Bank, Citibank's affiliate bank headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Chris returned to his native California in 1983 and has been in private practice in San Luis Obispo since 1984. Chris is also past Chairman of the State Bar of California Business Law Section's Nonprofit Organizations Committee, and currently represents numerous public and private charitable organizations. He is a member of the California Bar, the New York Bar (inactive) and of the Bar of the United States Tax Court.
DAN B. YAKOBIAN
DAN B. YAKOBIAN attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he studied Political Science and Jewish Studies, and Southwestern Law. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Yakobian participated in the Los Angeles Incubator Consortium (LAIC) where he received training in various areas of law and provided pro bono legal services to individuals in need. Mr. Yakobian then opened DBY Law where he focuses on employment law, workers’ compensation, landlord-tenant, personal injury, expungements, and business & contracts litigation. Mr. Yakobian is fluent in Hebrew and Farsi. He is admitted to practice law in the State of California as well as in Federal Court in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
