DARLENE M. “BRANDY” BARTOSH, Hanson Bridgett LLP, San Francisco, is a senior paralegal specializing in trusts and estates administration and real property work. Her background includes more than twenty years of trust and estate planning and administration experience, including business entity formations, trust funding, real property matters, post-mortem trust and estate administrations, long-term trust administrations, and preparation of estate and gift tax returns. Brandy received her B.A. from Dominican University, San Rafael.

DAVID J. ELEFANT, Law Offices of David J. Elefant, Walnut Creek. Mr. Elefant’s practice emphasizes estate planning and trust and probate administration. He serves as a California Probate Referee in Contra Costa County and has often served as Judge Pro Tem for the Contra Costa County Superior Court probate department. Mr. Elefant has served as an editor to various CEB publications in trusts and estates and as a speaker at CEB programs on these topics. Mr. Elefant is active in the Contra Costa Bar Association and was one of the founding co-chairs of its Probate and Trusts Section. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

TIM KNEIS, Probate Examiner, Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco. Tim Kneis began his early career in probate administration in the Trust Department of Bank of America in San Francisco back in January 1981. Tim left Bank of America in 1987 as a Senior Trust Officer and worked as a Senior Probate Paralegal for 14 years for such firms as Crosby Heafey Roach and May in Oakland, Botto Law Group, Hanson Bridgett, and Schiff Hardin, all in San Francisco. Tim is currently a Probate Examiner with the San Francisco County Superior Court and has worked as a Probate Examiner for 18 years. All told, Tim’s work experience in probate and trust administration spans over 36 years. Tim is a noted and frequent speaker on probate topics.

JAMES P. LAMPING, Law Offices of James P. Lamping, is an attorney specializing in estate planning, trust and probate administration, and litigation related to these areas. His practice is located in the Bay Area, Napa County, and Sonoma County. Mr. Lamping is certified as a specialist in estate planning, trust, and probate law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He graduated cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he also earned an LL.M. in Taxation.
